One day, I was talking on the phone about my upcoming Morocco trip.
“Are you gonna ride a camel?”
“No..?”
“You should! It’s a once in a lifetime thing!”
I looked up online and found that camel ride in Merzouga (Moroccan side of Sahara Desert) seemed to be one of the most epic experiences.
I won’t have time to squeeze in a trip to Merzouga, but I can take a short one instead.

After an hour drive from Marrakech, I was at the Agafay Desert. It’s more like a rocky desert.
And this camel was my buddy. He was so calm and … cute.

I rode him and he stood up. The camel was taller and bigger than I thought.
The open view with the clear sky was great. But in my mind, I was like… wait… this is harder than I expected. Walking is way easier. Let me get off….!
After a little while, I got comfortable and felt a little attached to my buddy.

In Morocco, I saw so many horse-drawn carriages, and I even saw horses still standing on the street with their carriages by themselves at midnight. That was the hardest thing to see during this trip.
What I liked about this camel ride place was that they treat the camels well. So my payment goes toward taking care of them.
I said Thank you to my camel, and they stood up and went back to their hut by themselves..
